EEA family permit/residence card - what is their form?

Is the sponsor an EU/EEA or Swiss national ? To what extent is freedom of movement still restricted for same-sex couples in the EU ? Do you have experience of immigration bureaucracy in other European countries ? Please also visit EU/EEA page in the main website

EEA family permit/residence card - what is their form?

Post by freetodecide » Wed Sep 02, 2015 2:29 pm

Hello,

I would like to know whether the EEA family permit has the form of a separate paper document or is a sticker on the passport.
does it show the name of the partner?

What about the residence card attained after EEA(FM) application. is it a paper document separated from the passport? does it show the partner's name?

Thanks for your help.

The EEA Family Permit IS a physical stamp that cannot be detached from the pages of your passport, and yes it contains the name of your family member.

I've only just applied for my resident card last week, and while I'm not certain, I believe it's a separate card based on the fact that it's possible to request the return of your original passport prior to the Home Office rendering its decision.
