Re: Fiance visa and the length of the process

Not sure how long they are taking to process applications at the moment. You tell them in the application when your partner is planning to arrive in the UK and the visa they issue is dated from when they process the application.

Check here: http://uklgig.org.uk/?page_id=516#applying-from-within-the-uk You apply for Further Leave to Remain (FLR) first and then ILR after 5 years. Make sure you always keep copies of those letters from the Home Office. Also note there is a partnership meeting on Saturday 21 Jan if you would lik...

Re: Partners income requirement Philippines

Hi Rodney,

I agree with Mark. It is your income that is important. His income isn't counted at all as it is earned outside the UK. It looks like they have misread the rules.

Re: EEA Family Permit refused - what next?

Sorry to hear about this. Is your Italian wife in London at the moment? If so I would recommend that she goes along to the monthly partnership meeting where she will be able to discuss this with one of the volunteer solicitors there. Meeting details here: http://uklgig.org.uk/?page_id=80#partnership...

Re: Return of sponsor's passport

I would suggest using the Nationality Checking Service. See here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/nationality-checking-service There is a fee, Warwickshire County Council are charging £70 at the moment, but unlike most fees associated with immigration you actually feel like you are getting...

You can apply for an EEAFP at any British diplomatic post. It doesn't have to be in your normal country of residence.

They never give anything away, other than it has been processed. You should get it back within the next few days.

Re: EEA APPLICATIONS - report your timescales

Hello Lukasz and Rohan, If you have received the COA your application must have been in order and they are now checking the details. They are not very fast and I think have up to 6 months under EU law to process this. If they need any extra information they should ask for it. If you need your passpo...

Re: partner visa/fiance

If we were engaged and went down that route, would we still need proof of living together for 2 years? No. But in this case any prior cohabitation evidence you have is good to show that yours isn’t just a marriage of convenience to obtain a visa and will strengthen your application. Will there be a...

Re: American student/Norwegian student/worker: EEA FM CR ???

1. As a non-EU, EEA person, am I obliged to submit my Residency application before my Student visa expires, or am I already legal because I married my EEA wife? Your immigration status changed the moment you married your wife. Your student visa isn’t really relevant now. 2. The application is 91 pa...

Re: Civil partnership for a non-EU resident - Money Matters

It is a difficult one. There is no way around the financial requirements, unless your partner is an EU citizen exercising treaty rights in the UK, in which case you can use EU immigration rules which don’t have an income threshold to meet. Other couples in your circumstances (if your partner is Brit...
